What Does Emo Mean

What is Emo, what does EMO mean? The answer to this is, Emo nowadays means different things to different people. To be "emo" can mean a lot of different things to each individual person. Most people tend to think, being Emo means that you are always thinking of emotional things and being separated from society.

That Emos like all things dark, such as black hair and eyebrows, black eyeliner, black backgrounds, black clothing and act depressed all the time. Please don’t confuse EMO with Goth; though they may seem similar they are in fact completely different! They both happen to like black a lot though! lol

Yes Emo can be about emotion and having a punk rock T-shirt and a certain style, but being Emo means a lot more than just a "look". In the old days Emo meant a subgenre of the hardcore punk scene. These days, Emo means something completely different than it did back when it meant different styles of emotionally-charged hardcore punk rock.

These days it means a lot more and is more a personal thing. Emos are generally emotional people that want to express themselves through there style of music (emo music) and fashion (emo fashion) style. To true Emos, being "emo" is a way of life.

The definition for Emo does not means to be dreppressed or angry.
